Ulrike Kubatta is an award-winning documentary producer/director and a Associate Professor in Research, Innovation & Professional Practice at De Montfort University, Leicester (UK).

Her academic work is underpinned by an active practice as a writer, director and producer of independent documentaries. Her films screen at international film festivals and independent cinemas and have won critical acclaim.

Olivia Robins.
Film, Events and Marketing Intern. 

Olivia is a student at De Montfort University, studying her second year in Business and Marketing. Since securing her internship with the DocHub, she has been working closely with Ulrike to bring it to life.

During this time, she hopes to re-invent the internship role by developing ideas and bringing a new perspective, all while expanding her knowledge of the documentary world.

Phoenix Cinema and Arts Centre is a cinema, art gallery and café bar in the city centre of Leicester, England. The cinema screens show everything from micro-budget independent films to the latest Hollywood blockbusters, and the centre is the host to festivals and events.

CATHI is home to the cross-faculty Centre for Adaptations (with English Literature), and houses a growing number of unique collections including the Hammer Script Archive, the Cinema Museum’s Indian Cinemas Archive (at DMU), the Sir Norman Wisdom Collection and the Peter Whitehead Archive. It hosts the annual UK Asian Film Festival, the BFI British Silent Film Festival, the post-graduate conference CATHICon and promotes practice-based research via the DocHub.
